My 2013 Trip to Salt Lake City | Throwback Thursday

In December 2013 I took a trip to Salt Lake City, Utah to visit my mom who had moved there about 3 weeks earlier. On my way over from Hawaii I stopped in LA and picked up my 2 year old niece Sophia from my sister Laura. It would be the first trip for Sophia without her mom, and Laura of course sobbed in the airport and Andrew Sophia’s dad and Laura’s then boyfriend (now husband)  had to try and console her on the 2 hour drive back to Palm Springs.

Sophia on the other hand had a great time on the plane, we colored pictures of Minnie Mouse, and watched Mickey’s Twice Upon A Christmas, which later played on the Apple TV through our entire trip lol. You can see in this picture she was right at home at my moms, she even had her own recliner, and was always ready to make a fashion statement haha!

During this trip she got to experience snow for the first time ever, and she and Matthew spent so much time playing outside, but while he was building snowballs she spent most of her time brushing the snow off the plants because they were “dirty”.

On this trip we went on a late night carriage ride, saw Santa, built gingerbread houses, baked an insane amount of sweets, and had the best family time. I can’t wait to spend another Christmas in the snow, sadly it won’t be this year, but hopefully this time next year we will be seeing our first bits of snowfall!

You can watch my 2013 Vlogmas videos here, they are already in a playlist so they videos will autoplay.
