Stat Saturday | Starting Fresh #1

Growing up and into my mid twenties I was always very fit, I loved being outdoors, swimming, biking, playing tennis or basketball. Somewhere along the way (beginning with my knee injuries), I’ve lost that, and I am now at the heaviest I’ve ever been, the lowest self-esteem I’ve ever had, and the least desire to do anything that requires going out in public.

Trying to get my weight under control is probably the most difficult task I’ve ever undertaken, and it’s something I have struggled with for the past 5 years. I have decided this year I am taking my life back! I want to be playing on the beach, taking the dogs hiking to a waterfall, and zip lining through the jungle again, and in order to do all of that I need to get off my ass and start moving. In May I hired a personal trainer at my local gym, she is amazing, I honestly would not get up and go to the gym if it weren’t for her, and we get along so well, which makes the workouts so much easier, it’s like going to meet a friend, just without the fun coffee and with a lot more sweating 😂. Because of Taylor’s (my trainer) encouragement I’m really starting to track my body changes and thought it would be the perfect time to reintroduce Stat Saturday’s. To be honest my confidence is probably at 10% right now, but I think it would be good for me and maybe help some of you out there by documenting my fitness and health journey, so here we go!

Unfortunately this week’s before pictures are not amazing. I really didn’t want to do the videos/picture in front of a white wall because it just shows how extra bad you look, so I thought I would do them outside, but by the time I got changed and set up the sun had moved over the building causing shadows. Next week I will do better!

You can watch today’s Stat Saturday here if your interested.
Are you currently/have in the past worked on a fitness/health journey? If so what are/did you do? Also I would love any tips or advice as I am honestly really struggling here.
