Recently a subscriber asked me to make a video on how to make money online, my first instinct was “No freaking way”, talking about anything regarding money is such a taboo topic and makes me feel so uncomfortable. After giving it some thought I realized that “How do you make money online?” is quite honestly the number one question I get when I tell people I work online, so I decided to take the plunge and take you guys through my top ways you can make money online.
1. Start A YouTube Channel
Starting a YouTube channel is the very first thing that comes to mind, it is however a longterm plan. On average a Youtube video will earn you about $2 per every 1,000 views, now that $2 will go up over time as you get bigger, but as a rule of thumb if you’re under 50K subscribers you can almost guarantee it will be $2 per 1,000 views. As you grow your YouTube channel you will get an opportunity to work with brands which is an additional income source to creators.
2. Start A Blog
A blog is also a great way to earn money online, you can motive your blog using Google Adsense, or by using Amazon Native Ads. With your blog you can also partner with brands and create an extra income source for yourself, however just like with YouTube this is a longterm plan, odds are your blog will not be an overnight success and you will have to work hard at both of these.
3. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate Marketing is one of the easiest ways to earn money online, in the sense that you don’t have to spend hours creating content and editing, but it still takes work. Affiliate Marketing is when you share a link with your unique code and when people buy an item you get a commission. This is a great way for bloggers and YouTubers to earn additional revenue, and most bloggers and Youtubers will tell you this is the majority of their income source. You can share your links via social media, youtube, a website, or a blog. The best and easiest companies to partner with are ShopStyle and Amazon.
4. Become a Virtual Assistant.
This is something you can do on your own, you do not need to partner with one of those online companies that we have all seen ads for, and it’s something you can do from home. With being a virtual assistant you would be tasked to do the jobs that business owners, bloggers, and entrepreneur don’t want to do, and shouldn’t do, as they need to be growing their brand/business. This can include taking phone calls, replying to emails, sending out mailers, creating ads, and some jobs may need you to be present a couple of hours a week to take pictures, or go through the accounts. This is something you can advertise for in your local area, as well as anywhere in the world.
5. Start an eBay Store
My most successful business online is my eBay store, it’s something that I came up with on a whim whilst buying makeup from the UK, and grew to the point to where it was far to big for me to continue on my own, as just packaging up the daily orders was talking my entire day. This is something you can easily recreate by finding a need and filling it. If you yourself are searching for something then odds are there are countless others searching for the same thing, so find it, buy as much as you can at a wholesale price, and then sell it on eBay for retail!
6. Start an Etsy Store
When Etsy first started they boxed themselves in by saying only handmade items could be sold there, fast foreword to today where you can find almost anything on Etsy. If you enjoy creating content planners, create some and sell them, if you like designing logos, list your services there, if you make the best jewelry get those earrings listed. Spend sometime going through Etsy and you will find 1,000s of ideas for items you can start selling yourself.
Those are my 6 ideas, let me know if you want to see a part two as I have a few others, also let me know if you have any specific questions, I would be happy to answer them!
