LipSence 1st Impression | Trying Senegence Eyeshadow

Recently I’ve been seeing the Senegence brand all over facebook, more specifically their LipSense line. LipSense promises to provide a beautiful lip color with all day lasting power, so I thought I would try it out and let you know my thoughts.

With LipSense you need 3 products, the actual lip shade, the gloss, and the remover the cost for all three was $50, which is quite steep I figured if it did what it said it does it would be worth it.

I applied 3 thin coats going in one direction just as instructed, the first thing to know is that the base of this product is alcohol, which not only burns as it’s going on but it dries your lips out like crazy!!! Also I found the color transfer to not be as nice as described it seemed like I never really got the shade to fully show up. After applying the 3 thin layers you apply the gloss, the gloss feels amazing after the alchohl lipstick, but it actually has this kind of “old lady” shimmer to it that I really didn’t like. I looked at pictures online to see if maybe it was just the one that I had tried but it seems like all of their shades once covered in the gloss has that shimmer.

This did last almost all day but you do need to top up the gloss throughout the day. I actually would not repurchase this nor would I reccomnd it because the cost is too high for a product that you have to reapply and the product is so drying on your lips that it cannot be healthy to wear this day in and day out and not be completely destroying your lips.

I also tried the cream eyeshadow in 3 different shades and I applied it without primer because it claims that it doesn’t crease. I can report it was very easy to apply, it blended really well, it didn’t crease, it doesn’t feel heavy, and it doesn’t smudge. This I felt was a real winner but again the cost is quite high at $22 for a small tube. I would repurchase this though as it really did stay all day and it was super easy to remove.

On a side not I hated the company website, it seems really dated, and instead ordered from Carlie Wood off of instagram as this is an MLM, I did take a look at the business side of this but I felt that it was similar to Avon where you are competing with the company as people can order directly from the website for the same cost as they order from you, but also to really get the discounts to make this work you would need to be ordering A LOT of product at a time which is how a lot people lose money on MLM’s.

In the end I wouldn’t recommend the lip products, I would recommend the Cream Shadow, and I wouldn’t get into this business unless you knew a lot people that would be interested in ordering directly from you on a regular basis.

You can watch the full video for this post here and I would love to know if any of you have tried these products!

It really was! I also hated how sticky it felt as I talked before applying the gloss.

I had no idea it was alcohol based so when I put it on for the first time in the video it shocked me so much! There are so many people on Facebook and Instagram selling it, I’m curious how they keep their lips from shriveling up lol.
