Makeup Removal Is Killing The Planet!

How many of us have used a makeup wipe during our lives? I think that number would be in the very high 100’s of millions, and of that number how many makeup wipes have we each used, probably countless, but the problem with using makeup wipes is not only is it terrible at actually removing all of your makeup and cleaning your skin, but those wipes have plastic in them!! I know shocking right! If you took a makeup wipe or a diaper wipe right now and try to rip it apart what happens, most will stretch but not tear and that’s the plastic in them to keep them together, but that same plastic that keeps them from tearing also keeps them biodegrading, once they enter the landfills, or god forbid the water supple (yes people are flushing these down the toilet).

In light of it being World Environment Day I thought I would share a few things I’ve done to not only clean my face better but to help make a little change for our planet, its a little change if one person does it but if the 100’s of millions of people that use wipes to clean their face/remove their makeup did this it would add up incredibly fast!

  1. Switch out your makeup wipes for a Face Eraser/Magn!Tone/Face Halo cloth. Theses cloths are actually magic you just add water and they remove your makeup, when you’re done throw it in the wash and your good to go again! I would suggest having 5 of these on hand so you don’t have to do laundry too many times a week.
  2. Instead of eye remover pads use Bamboo pads, these are washable, they come in a pack of 12 and as you can see from the picture they’re huge so you only need 1 per face wash!
  3. There is a select group of us that like to use paper towels to blot our face dry after washing, rather than using actual paper towels switch to bamboo paper towels these are washable, they dry quickly and you can use them for literally everything!!! They also last for about 6-10 months, thats a lot of paper towels not being wasted in that time frame!

These are just a handful of changes that we can each make to help fight climate change, and help keep our planet looking clean and natural!!

I am going to link Lil Dicky’s Earth Day Song here but please don’t show this to your children it’s a bit too mature for them lol, but a great reminder for us to Love The Earth!
